Fighting a battle against cellulite? Understand it to win.

Q: What is cellulite?

A: Cellulite is simply the dimpled skin typically found on the lower body (think your derriere and your legs). Cellulite is a natural thing that has nothing to do with bad health and is just an aesthetic issue.

Q: Who gets it?

A: 90% of women and around 20% of men are affected by cellulite at some point in their lives.

Q: Why do women get it more often?

A. The bodies of men and women have different structures, and the ways that men and women store fat are totally different.

Q. What causes cellulite?

A. Fibrous bands between skin tissue called septa work as anchors, and when fat is stored between these anchors, it bulges which causes the dimples we call cellulite.

Q. Is cellulite hereditary?

A. Yes, genetic can play a part in cellulite development. If your parents struggle with cellulite, you’re likely to see it on your own body as you age.

Q. If I lose weight, will I lose the cellulite go, too?

A. Not necessarily, however, a poor diet (foods that are high in sugar and in fat) contributes to the appearance of cellulite, so avoiding those foods and keeping a healthy diet is great prevention.

Q: How can I get rid of my cellulite?
